You only need to bring yourself.
Thursday Evenings 5:00PM – 6:30 PM in the Gathering Place
October 3rd – November 7th
5:00PM – 6:30PM
Led by Rev. Martha Macgill and Rev. Alison Peters
Join us on Thursdays from 5:00-6:30 in the Gathering Space beginning Thursday, October 3rd and ending on Thursday, November 7th. The contemplative tradition is the mystic‘s path and has a long history in Christianity as well as other world religions. This contemplative path and its practices are the ways to go deeper in your faith. Richard Rohr has spent his life in the Christian Church exploring the mystical path, and, in his book The Naked Now, he says “Now don’t let the word “mystic” scare you off. It simply means one who has moved from mere belief systems or belonging systems to actual inner experience.” Using excerpts from The Naked Now and other sources, join Pastor Alison and Rev Martha as we examine well-known and not-so-well-known Scripture passages from a contemplative, mystical perspective.
Get ready to go beyond a surface reading of Holy Scripture and get ready to have your heart, mind and soul transformed in new ways. Come and taste the rich resources of our faith! Please call Brittany in the church office to register for the class. Materials for the first week of class will be ready to be picked up in mid to late September.
