Milestone Ministry is a multi-generational tool for faith formation. It helps mark significant events in our lives, from baptism and confirmation, to losing your first tooth, getting your first phone, caring for aging parents, saying goodbye to a pastor, going through transition and retirement, among many others. Using a four-step process which includes scripture reading, reflection, prayer, and conversation, Milestones are utilized to illustrate God’s presence in our everyday lives whether at home or with the congregation.
Over the past few years, we have marked a number of milestones in the life of members of our church family. At each gathering we share food together, talk about the significance of the milestone being celebrated, and read and reflect on scripture as well as bless and pray for each other.
Although we have not been able to gather physically for a milestone recently, we have been able to send an Easter Egg Blessing and a Social Distancing discussion guide to members so that they could have significant conversations in their own homes.
We look forward to a time when we can once again gather around the table to share a meal and discussion to explore, discuss, and commemorate the milestones in our lives. We hope you’ll join us when that time comes. Please check back for updates on future Milestone events.
